What are Global Impact Trips?
Global Impact short-term mission trips are designed to grow you to the next level in your relationship with Christ as you wrestle with your role in fulfilling the Great Commission. The team experiences combine sharing the love of Christ, intense team building and spiritual growth so that participants experience what the Lord is doing to bring glory to Himself among the nations.
How Long are the Mission Trips?
Trips are usually either 1 or 2 weeks long.
What Type of Things do Global Impact Trips do?
The project always varies depending on the partner organization or the needs of the local community. Some types of projects include (but are not limited to) outreach, relational evangelism, work projects, teaching English, humanitarian aid, ministering to orphans, or passing out Christian literature.
What countries has MBC Loudoun served in?
MBC Loudoun has been sending teams to Bluefields, Nicaragua since 2009. We have an established partnership with an organization their called the ORPHANetwork. We established this partnership because ORPHANetwork has a vision and goals that our church can support. We also sought such tanglible factors as reasonable trip costs for congregants participating on yearly mission trips, a location to serve that is relatively close (western hemisphere) and provides opportunities for families to serve together.
Would we send a missions team to another country? Absolutely, if that is what God calls us to do.
How Far in Advance do You Need to Apply to a Trip?
Trips typically accept applications about 5-6 months prior to the trip.
How Much Does it Cost, and Who Pays for it?
The cost of each trip varies depending on the project and the location. Most trips range between $1500-3500 per person. All of our teams work cooperatively to raise the support necessary through personal support letters and team fundraising events. Individuals are not expected to cover full trip costs themselves. If you feel God is leading you to participate on a short term mission trip, He will provide the necessary funds. We encourage you to step out in faith!
What is the Application Process?
You can apply online here. You will be contacted by one of the team leaders for the trip you apply for to schedule an interview typically within 1-2 weeks if the team is currently recruiting.
Am I Qualified To Lead a Trip?
If you have been on a previous short-term mission trip with GI, in college or through another church then you may qualify. Check out the information under Lead to find out more information.
