About Awana
Awana is an international ministry that helps churches and parents raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ. Each week, more than 1.5 million kids take part in Awana through more than 22,000 churches in the U.S. and around the world. Awana is the only organization with fully integrated, Bible-based programs for ages 3 to 18 that actively involve parents, church leaders and mentors.
Specifically, Awana focuses on learning God’s Word in a fun atmosphere. Each week, Awana provides consistent, positive teaching and training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. Our clubbers learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible.
About our Club at MBC Loudoun
Our Club currently accepts children from age 2 through 6th-grade.
A typical night at Awana is broken down into 3 segments:
Game time - Every Awana meeting kicks off in high gear with lots of healthy and biblically-centered team competition. Organized games get all of the children to participate, unleashing natural energy & enthusiasm.
Handbook Time - Using achievement-oriented learning segments, Awana training emphasizes the importance of God & His Word for sound living. Clubbers progress through handbooks at their own pace & leaders meet with them individually to go over what they have learned each week.
Council/Large Group Time - Council time begins with group Bible study that is tailored to the ages of the clubbers.
Additionally, many fun events are scheduled throughout the year for clubbers to invite their friends to. Events usually include:

Awana's curriculum is centered around its mission to train children and youth to know, love, and serve Christ. The youngest Clubs within Awana (Puggles, 2-year-olds; Cubbies, 3- and 4-year-olds; and Sparks, K-2nd grade) focus on knowing God, which is accomplished through a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus. As such, the basic truths of gospel are a regular focus, alongside Bible stories that introduce the men and women of Scripture in a relevant way for children.
Truth & Training, or T&T (3rd - 6th grade) focuses on answering kids' questions about God and the Bible. Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child's knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life. While the gospel is still a central focus (as it is throughout Awana), aspects of loving God through obedience, and serving Him are introduced with additional emphasis.
Age Requirements:
Puggles must be 2 years old by September 30, 2012.
Cubbies must be 3 years old by September 30, 2012.
Sparks (Kindergarten) must be 5 years by September 30, 2012. If your child is not starting Kindergarten this fall, please enroll them in Cubbies.
1st Grade through 6th Grade. Your child will go into the same Awana class as they attend in school (or with the grade of same-age children if homeschooled).
